Job Description

At Trential, we're building a new way for people and businesses to manage their identities and official documents (like degrees, licenses, or passports) online.
What We Do:

  • Establish Trust Online: We help organizations and people prove who they are and what they know in any digital interaction—safely and instantly.

  • Give Users Control: We put you back in charge of your own identity. Instead of tech giants holding your data, you get to decide what information you
share, when you share it, and with whom.

  • Make Credentials Global: We make your official documents accessible everywhere with a single tap, securely and privately.

How We Do It:

We use the latest technology — specifically, an international standard called W3C Verifiable Credentials — to develop applications to solve for the essential missing identity layer for the internet. Our mission is to transform how identity works in the digital world, making it private, secure, and user controlled.

What You’ll Own and Drive:

We are looking for someone who can take complete ownership — from shaping the user experience to delivering reliable backend systems. You’ll ship features fast without compromising on quality and play a key role in defining how our product evolves.
Frontend

  • Build and maintain front-end interfaces using modern frameworks (React/Next.js or similar).

  • Collaborate with designers and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences.

  • Develop scalable backend services and APIs (Node.js/Express/NestJS, or similar).

  • Work across the full Software Development Life Cycle—design, build, test, deploy, and monitor features.

  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code.

  • Contribute to the architecture of new features and tools.

  • Troubleshoot issues across the stack and improve system performance.

  • Participate in code reviews and follow best engineering practice.

What We're looking for:

  • Strong foundation in JavaScript/TypeScript and one backend framework (Node.js preferred).

  • Experience with React, modern frontend tooling, and responsive UI development.

  • Good understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and databases (PostgreSQL/MongoDB).

  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).

  • Problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn fast.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, product-focused environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to have):

  • Knowledge of Next.js, GraphQL, Redis, or message queues.

  • Exposure to containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, or cloud-native patterns.
